"In the depths of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." -- Albert Camus ...
I am in the depths of Winter...the past couple weeks have been tough as my family deals with loss...I feel that I am coming out of the otherside of this and realize that I have Spring Fever immensely...the big snow fall we got today didn't help although Sean and I spent all morning outside and tried to build a snowman...I am also starting to look through seed catalogs and dream of flowers and plants for my garden...before we moved into this home this past december, we had to rake leaves because we have oak trees (remember? we named them...Butch...Rose..Lonely Tom..Butterleaf...etc)as we raked, we uncovered gardens, bushes, and landscaping that was beautiful...I can only imagine what surprises await our home this spring...In the meantime, I will probably go out and get some fresh flowers so I can pretend I have a flower garden...but I know that daylight savings time is in 2 weeks...daylight is growing...so, my creative urges are kind of flowing outward, they are otuside of me..maybe giving me a chance to heal on the inside more...

Of winter's lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer's secret
Deep down within its heart.~Charles G. Stater

The quotes you posted, and the image of lovely, unruly garden surprises emerging in the spring, are exactly what my own wintered-over soul needed, Luna. I could live and die by that Camus line. Good to hear that your creative energy is flowing. Here's hope for healing and springlike renewal. Ann
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your loss. The great thing about Spring (both the season and it's emotional counterpart) is, it always comes. Not always exactly when we need it, but eventually.
